Hey all- im hoping theres a few experienced bodybuilders on here?
Ive been training now for around 6 months, time is limited due to work and family. But i do 4 or 5 sessions a week and although the sessions are short (7 or 8 sets per workout) they are always to failure and i focus on all the big exercises (squat, deadlift, bench, weighted chins, shoulder press etc) for efficiency.
Things have gone great, ive gone from not being able to do a full bodyweight pullup to doing 8 reps with 20kg in a backpack for example. I dont measure, but the mrs has noticed and commented on the size gains.
However yesterday i stupidly bounced a dumbell off my ribs and bruised them quite badly.
Now i have a choice of either dosing up on painkillers and training..or taking a week off completely.
The question is, if i take a full week of no exercise, will i actually lose a signifigant amount of the gains i have made? I know i should avoid aggravating my ribs, but the idea of a whole week not exercising horrifies me
Thanks
